Shark Finn garden and inside dining area.
Shark Finn sits near the very tip of Cornwall just a few minutes away from Land’s End so, as you'd expect, it's cuddled by magnificent sea views. The luscious garden surrounding the cottage is the perfect spot for a fish supper and a glass of white wine as the sun melts into the sea. And when you’re feeling sleepy, you can head in through one of seven patio doors and up to the spacious pastel blue-hued rooms or kick back in front of the wood-burning stove in the living room.
If you do manage to pull yourself away from this mini oasis, the magnificent open-air Minack Theatre – with uninterrupted views of the bright blue sea acting as a backdrop – is just a few miles south and puts on a diverse programme of performances through the summer.
The Trevio Farmhouse rests in luscious Cornwall countryside.
Trevio Farmhouse, Padstow, Cornwall
You can really get away from it all at the Trevio Farmhouse. Nestled in the tiny village of St Merryn but only four miles from the bustling harbour town of Padstow, you can while away the day with a picnic in the peaceful meadows or on the banks of your own private stream. And when it's nippy outside, set up camp in front of the wood-burning stove in the snug living room or mess around with a game of pool in the games room.
If you fancy dipping into civilisation, head to Padstow to soak up the olde-worlde atmosphere on a boat tour or try your hands at rustling up a freshly caught grilled lobster with fines herbes and fruits de mer at the Rick Stein's Seafood School.
